HOT TIME NEAR KING HILL

There was a regular column of vehicles driving up King Hill Sunday afternoon to try to see the source of a blaze that had spread black smoke over the Battlefords. Closer to the fire itself was a long column of cars watching the blaze. Explosions were heard regularly as gas tanks in cars that were burning exploded. Within a few hours, the fire was greatly reduced through the efforts of civilians and firefighters, including one pickup truck with a water tanker that helped firefighting efforts.
