North Stars beat Ice Wolves

The Ice Wolves hadn't scored a goal at the Civic Centre in two previous games this season, but struck first Tuesday against the North Stars. Zac Ashdown scored on a two-on-one with Graham Smerek on La Ronge's first shot.

The North Stars responded with back-to-back power play goals. First it was jordan Ethier putting back a rebound with Woody Klassen and Brett Miller drawing the assists. A minute later, Blake Tatchell skated down the wall, deked the defenceman and beat Alex Rajotte glove side to take the lead. Klassen and Ethier had the assists on Tatchell's goal.

There was no scoring again until late in the third period when Miller capitalized on a Tatchell pass off the rush. Etheir added an empty net goal from Roger Tagoona and Ryne Keller and sealed the 4-1 win.

Connor Creech was playing in his second straight start and after losing to Humboldt Sunday 1-0, he bounced back and helped the North Stars to the victory against La Ronge.
