Jim and Jean Kulcsar of Yorkton were at their Crooked Lake cabin recently and afterwards stopped for a visit at Vivian and Jim Talbot’s.

With all the rain we have been getting, the grid roads, hills down to the valley and even the highways, especially number 22 to Grayson, have been rather a challenge.

Coffee Row has been a happy place of late. Vivian Talbot bought coffee and supplied muffin tops for 23 on Saturday for her sixth decade birthday. There were a few “old” jokes accompanied by some teasing. Daughter, Dayna Markwart, and elementary school chum, Marcia Smith and Albert Glendinning were out of town guests. Later that day the party continued when family and a few friends were entertained. The Talbot children, Dayna, Darla & Shane, and their families were all home to celebrate Mom’s birthday. Hope you have a happy, healthy year, Vivian!

Mervin and Dawn Andersen, Hudson and Kareena of Regina were down at their “little” house for the weekend. They helped his sister, Vivian, celebrate her big birthday. Other out of town guests at the Talbot home were Chris Topliss, Yorkton; Lucille and Larry Stradeski, Grenfell; Elsie and Malvin Zimmer, Regina; Judy Westman and Jeanette (Ed) Boyechko of Esterhazy; Len and Jenney Markwart from Regina; and Marcia (Smulan) Smith and Albert Glendinning of Chestermere, AB. Marcia and Albert were able to take in coffee row and also spent a couple nites with her sister, Gail Helmeczi, in Esterhazy before returning home on Tuesday.

Ted Ellwood is also another year older! He bought coffee and provided Margaret’s home baked buns with ham and cheese as well as cookies as a delicious treat for everyone. There was another good turn out and much merriment. Thanks and many happy returns, Ted!

The monthly community potluck supper was held on Wednesday. Supper was delicious as usual but a smaller than normal crowd was out to enjoy it. The 50/50 winner was Joe Kaczur and the door prize, donated by Eva Huber, was won by Doug Morley. Thanks to Mary Nagy, the Hut was very springy. She brought beautiful garden daffodil bouquets to decorate the tables.
