Dimensions exhibit of fine craft now at Chapel Gallery

Gotta Have Art

Thinking Cap #3, created by Cathryn Miller using various materials.

It’s time once again for the Dimensions show of fine craft curated by the Saskatchewan Craft Council.

Dimensions is on now at the Chapel Gallery. This year’s jurors selected the best 33 works from 156 submissions. Pieces in the show run the gamut from woodwork and fibre to sculpture, jewelry and clay. This show consistently includes the best work from artisans across the province and the Chapel Gallery is honoured to be chosen as one of the exhibiting galleries.

Visitors will enjoy the quality and diversity in the pieces, with many being functional art and others created purely for the enjoyment of the viewer.

Mike Fulop of Saskatoon has created a bureau chair using cypress and it has received the Award of Excellence for Wood.

The Premier’s Prize for the outstanding entry was given to Cathryn Miller of Grasswood for her Thinking Cap #3. This piece was created using a range of materials including dictionary pages, bamboo and toothpicks.

Support for Dimensions is provided by the Saskatchewan Arts Board, the Government of Saskatchewan Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport and the Town of Battleford.

The Chapel Gallery is located in the Don Ross Centre at 891 – 99th St. and is open daily from noon to 5 p.m. For more information please contact the Chapel Gallery at 445-1757. Support is provided by the Saskatchewan Arts Board, the City of North Battleford, Saskatchewan Lotteries and RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities – Rongve, Gabruch, Schell and Weikle Wealth Management.
