Accident investigation

The Estevan detachment of the RCMP are continuing their investigation into a car/train collision on the morning of June 10 that resulted in the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle suffering serious injuries.

An RCMP accident reconstructionist continues to work on details from the accident scene, the rail line crossing in the village of Macoun. So far it was determined that the driver of the vehicle was attempting to enter the village when it was struck by the train.

The name of the victim, who was transferred to a Regina hospital later that day, has not been released.
