NWRC appoints north region director

Shelly Janostin, formerly a communications co-ordinator with Living Sky School Division, has been appointed as north region director of the North West Regional College.

Janostin will be located at the College’s Meadow Lake campus.

Janostin has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan, a Bachelor of Education degree from Simon Fraser University and has completed a Master of Business Administration from Royal Roads University.

According to a NWRC press release, Jonastin has developed skills in both the private and educational sectors. For 15 years she and her husband were owner/managers of a family farm and commercial grain harvesting business. She has worked in the Alberta college system and has taught in the K-12 school system.

“The college is fortunate to attract someone with Shelly’s experience in education and private enterprise,” said president and CEO, Bryan Nylander.

“I am confident Shelly will provide strong leadership in our northern region and continue promoting the college’s goal to be recognized as a major training center of the north. We look forward to the energy and enthusiasm Shelly brings to North West Regional College.”

North West Regional College provides an array of services and programming to over 3,200 students through campuses in the Battlefords and Meadow Lake and in more than 20 rural communities. Offering training in professional skills, basic education, and university, the College also partners with business to provide employer-tailored programs. North West Regional College is proud to be a significant contributor to the local, regional, and provincial workforce.
