The Battlefords have no shortage of spectacular events throughout the summer months, and again one of the most anticipated celebrations is BridgeFest.
The Battlefords Scuba Community will bring something new to BridgeFest this year. The Club rented a dunk tank for the festivities. The club’s executive is busy lining people up to sit on the “not so hot” seat to tempt those throwing the balls.
The club has considered the idea for a couple of years but the tank has not been available. This year arrangements were made and club’s spokesmen are hoping it will be a significant attraction to their booth and to the overall event.
A schedule of time for celebrities and lesser mortals will be developed and posted so those interested in dunking someone can plan who and when. The membership is excited to bring this new feature to the revitalized BridgeFest format and think it should add to the adventure and excitement of the day.
The public can see what is going on inside the tank due to the clear sides and members may be able to demonstrate a few of the basics to add a little variety to what has been a static display in the past.
Organizers of the festival have expressed their pleasure with the addition of the new feature, stating it is always good to see something new being tried.
The Scuba Community invites the community to come out and learn a little more about diving and join the festivities for a fun day in the sun.
BridgeFest is Aug. 25 at the Battlefords Flats and along with the dunk tank their will be a slo-pitch tournament, beach volleyball tournament, a shoot out, a children’s jumping tent, the teen blow up bop, a vintage car show, pony rides, horse and buggy rides, a petting zoo, the balloon guy, face painting, a tug of war, market place, watering hole, food venues and live entertainment with Big Wreck headlining the event.
