Library hosts storytelling and toy construction sessions

Neilburg News and Views

The Neilburg branch of the Lakeland Library sponsored a storytelling session Aug. 9 with Danica Lorer as the guest artist. Children were encouraged to make up stories of their own, using their imaginations. In July the library hosted an afternoon where children could build with Legos and other construction toys, listen to stories and enjoy a snack. Remember to patronize your library this summer and participate in the summer reading program to win prizes. The annual community calendars are also ready for pick-up at the library.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Beulah Ruby McIntosh, who passed away Aug. 2 in Saskatoon at the age of 94. She would have turned 95 in November. The memorial service was held Tuesday evening, Aug. 7 at the McCaw Funeral Chapel in Lloydminster, with Pastor Mel Letkeman officiating. Beulah will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her two children, Syd McIntosh of Marsden and Susan Walker of Winnipeg; two grandchildren, Tracy Kurtz and Ashley McIntosh; and her four great-grandchildren, Levi McIntosh, Kailey Kurtz, Tyra McIntosh and Kolby Kurtz. Donations in Beulah's memory can be made to the Brady Cemetery Fund.

Congratulations to Marty and Julie Bowes on the birth of their first child, a daughter, Kacie Jordyn, who was born July 6 in Lloydminster. Congratulations also to the new grandparents, Darlene and Greg Bowes, all of Neilburg. A shower will be held Aug. 19 to celebrate the new arrival.

Five Day Clubs were held the week of July 23 to 27 in Marsden at the home of Marjorie Nattress and in Neilburg at Eva Schaiger's residence. The Clubs featured songs, prizes, stories and Bible lessons, led by two young ladies. More information on these can be found at www.5dayclubs.com.
