TORONTO - Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says his public drive to lose weight is over.

The mayor's "Cut The Waist Challenge" started in January and was supposed to last until mid-June.

Ford had hoped to lose a total of 50 pounds but after some losses and gains, only lost 16 to bring him down to 314 pounds.

His weekly weigh-ins on a large scale outside his city hall office had been changed to every two weeks earlier this month after a few of them were cancelled.

The mayor says he his no longer dieting.

But Ford says he may start up again, although he did not indicate when that might happen. (CFRB)
