Helicopter crashes to ground while crop spraying in

SILVERTON, Man. - Police are investigating the crash of a helicopter that was spraying crops near Silverton in western Manitoba.

Investigators say the pilot was able to walk to a farmyard for help after the chopper hit the ground.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

The Bell 206 Jet Ranger owned by a company from North Bay, Ont., was destroyed on impact.

Transport Canada officials are also reviewing what happened.
