Natasha Vandenhurk of Three Farmers Products has been named a finalist for the 2018 Mompreneur Award of Excellence.

The winner will be announced at the 2018 National Mompreneurs Conference on March 3.

A total of 23 finalists are vying for awards in four categories; more than 1,200 women were nominated or registered online for the awards.

After trimming the list of nominees to 205, the finalists were selected, thanks to accumulating points based on support from votes who cast over 30,000 votes, as well as impression ratings from a selection committee.

The task of determining who will win the awards, being presented at this year’s 2018 National Mompreneurs Conference, will now be left up to a panel of judges. The winner will be chosen based on a select set of criteria for each award including: track record of success; product innovation of business idea; growth potential and scalability; revenue; inspiration to others; and impact on the community.

Three Farmers Products is a Saskatchewan-based retail brand focused on connecting farmers with consumers by bringing sustainable, quality food products to the market. Started by Natasha Vandenhurk and her sister Elysia Vandenhurk, who hail from the Midale area, Three Farmers Products saw a need in the marketplace for minimally processed, nutritious foods that were grown and made in a transparent and traceable manner.

The company is named after Midale-area farmers Ron Emde, Colin Rosengren and Dan Vandenhurk, who are also investors in the business.

“I am so excited to be a finalist in this category. We started our brand Three Farmers Products eight years ago at the Saskatoon farmers’ market and are now selling in over 2,500 grocery retailers in Canada. We are so proud of our brand and cannot wait to share it with more Canadian consumers.”

In addition to the Award of Excellence category, awards will be handed out for the outstanding startup, the outstanding merit and the best charity, non-profit or service initiative.
