Awards handed out at 4-H show

Local 4-H members were saluted for their commitment and achievement on Thursday evening during the awards portion of the Rotary 4-H Show and Sale.

Local 4-H members were saluted for their commitment and achievement on Thursday evening during the awards portion of the Rotary 4-H Show and Sale.

 

Brenden Lischka of the Browning 4-H Club won the award for the grand champion beef steer, while Casie Brokenshire of the Outram-Madigan 4-H Club had the reserve champion beef steer and the best home-grown steer.

Brokenshire also had year’s grand champion female and the champion yearling heifer, while Brenna Fornwald (Browning) had the reserve champion female and the reserve champion yearling heifer.

Cooper Brokenshire (Outram-Madigan) won for the champion continuation female, and Keara Christensen (Browning) had the reserve champion continuation female.

Team grooming award went to the Outram-Madigan 4-H Beef Club.

The 4-H members were also recognized for judging abilities. Cassidy Ross (Outram-Madigan) was recognized for giving the best oral reasons for her selections, while Brenna Fornwald (Browning)  won the overall judging award.

Junior Showmanship went to Kail Hilstrom (Benson 4-H Club), intermediate showmanship went to Mason Mack (Benson) and senior showmanship was presented to Tess Brokenshire (Outram-Madigan), who also won the overall showmanship award.

Casie Brokenshire (Outram-Madigan) won the grand aggregate showmanship award.  

Jaxon Orsted (Benson) took home the 4-H motto award. The Benson Beef Club won the best-kept stalls award.

Cassidy Ross (Outram-Madigan) and Tess Brokenshire (Outram-Madigan) were presented with this year’s Estevan Exhibition Association scholarship.  

The cloverbud members were also recognized for their efforts. This year’s cloverbud members are Adeline Oleshka, Haylie Petterson, Turner Petterson, Cooper Hale, Charlie Hayes, Ellie Hayes, Jaxson Orsted, Kruze Orsted, Dane Hogg, Brody Hogg, Keaton Walter, Ryder Mantei, Aiden Tanner,Hugh Ross, Gage Goetz, Sierra Mantei, Ava Mann, Reese Erdman,          Ava Wheeler, Cayden Lischka and Brenna Fornwald.                                                                    

And the Southern Plains Co-op presented the Benson, Browning and Outram-Madigan clubs with a $1,000 donation.
