James Albert Colbow
1925 - 2007

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and uncle, James A. Colbow.

He was born October 14, 1925 in Khedive, Sask., to Cecil and Emma Colbow. Jim attended school in Khedive up to Grade 8, and then as so often was the case in those days, he quit and went off to work. He began his working career as a farm hand for a farmer in Ceylon for 13 years. he then spent six years working in caf?s around southern Saskatchewan. He went on to work at St. Joseph's Hospital for 18 years until his health forced him to retire early.

As Jim grew older, he had more time to spend with his favourite pastimes, playing cards, bingo, watching sports, going to dances, and of course, not to forget, dating women. Well at least until a charming woman moved into his building and won over his heart. Jim and Esther were married on October 24, 1998. They enjoyed many of the same activities and interests and had eight good years of marriage.

As Jim's health began to deteriorate over the last year, he always kept a positive attitude. He never wanted to talk about himself and how he was doing, he was more interested in your news and what was going on in your life. Jim was a kind and gentle man that will be missed by all. His passing will leave a void in all of our hearts, but the wonderful memories we have of him will keep us always smiling.

Survived by his wife, Esther Colbow, Estevan; son, Jim (Susan) Colbow, Estevan; daughter, Carol Foster, Victoria, B.C.; brother, Donald (Marg) Colbow, Estevan; sister, Marg (Bill) Carter, Taber, Alta.; brother-in-law, Lorne Dayman, Estevan; grandchildren, Christopher Colbow, Victoria, B.C., Chelsey Colbow (Jeremy Istace), Estevan; Courtney Colbow, Estevan; step-children, Carol (Marvin) Storey, Kipling; Larry (Marilyn) Gervais, Estevan; Lyle (Rose Marie) Gervais, Lethbridge, Alta.; Karen (Peter) Melle, Estevan; Colleen (Craig) Friesen, Abbotsford, B.C.
