Dorothy Collins

Dorothy Collins passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the age of 60 years with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by her parents, Emanuel and Margaret Olheiser.

She is survived by her loving family: husband of 36 years, Wes Collins of Estevan; two daughters, Sheri (Greg) Trobert of Regina and Glynis (Mike) Jarochowicz of

Mississauga, Ontario; three grandsons, Devin and Tyler Trobert and Jake Jarochowicz; mother-in-law, Clara Collins of Estevan; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Ron) Muirhead of estevan, Elva (Gary ) Haagenson of Williston, N.D., and Vicki (John) Winter of Estevan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was born on December 13, 1946 in Estevan and grew up on a farm near Torquay and moved to Torquay as a young child. She was an only child, but had many cousins. Dorothy met Wes in the summer of 1964. They were married in 1970. They had two daughters, Sheri and Glynis. While living in Weyburn she worked for SaskTel. In 1979, they moved from Weyburn to Estevan. Dorothy stayed home while Sheri and Glynis were in school. When they were older, she worked at the Saan Store for a couple of years. She enjoyed going for coffee and few times a week and visiting with friends and family. She liked to read, cross stitch and use the computer. She was always willing to help out friends and neighbours. She would watch their homes while they were away and would volunteer to canvass for various charities. She enjoyed buying toys and clothes for her three grandsons. She loved to see them smile and laugh. In February 2007, she was diagnosed with cancer. She had hope the entire illness, and fought until the end.

The funeral took place on Thursday, March 8, 2007 with Mr. Doug Third officiating at the Chapel of Boire Funeral Home. Interment was at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens.
