Isabelle Margaret (Walker) Forsyth Mack passed away peacefully on March 30, 2007 at Weyburn Special Care Home at the age of 99 years.
Isabelle is survived by her children: Alex (Liz) Forsyth, Viking, Alberta; Donna (Alex) Guy, Regina, Saskatchewan; and Elvera Galloway, Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan and eight grandchildren, Christina (Marshall) Tymofichuk; Robert (Kathy) Forsyth; Marilyn (Harold) Brandt; Sandra (Clarence) Ogrodnick; Glennys (Todd) Guy; Gerry Galloway; Sheldon (Marcia) Galloway and Kenton (Lucinda) Galloway, as well as thirteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
Isabelle was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Robert Forsyth in 1971; and her second husband of 19 years, Joe Mack in 1994. She was also predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Helen Walker; siblings, Catherine, Mary, Laura, Jean, Marjorie, John, Grace, Archie, Sandy and Bruce; and son-in-law, Bob Galloway.
Isabelle, the fifth child, was born in 1908 in the new frame home on the Walker homestead at Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan. She was educated in South Alameda, Alameda, South Oxbow and Glen Ewen where she took care of her beloved Grandmother Atkinson. Isabelle worked as a housekeeper, childcare provider and telephone operator before marrying Bob and moving to the Forsyth farm in Frobisher, Saskatchewan. After farming and raising their three children, they purchased and managed a grocery store in Frobisher (ForsythÕs Store), which serviced the Frobisher community for 23 years. In retirement Isabelle moved to Estevan where she lived until five months ago.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Weyburn Special Care Home for the support and kindness provided to Isabelle. As Isabelle said, ÒI do not know what i did to deserve to live here Ð I would not have missed it for the world!Ó
The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from the Frobisher United Church, Frobisher, Sask., with interment at the Frobisher Cemetery.
