Dale was born December 22, 1938 at Wetaskiwin, Alberta, one of four children born to Richard and Nettie Wollin. He married Joan Crozier at Alameda, Sask., on December 22, 1970. Dale and Joan lived in Estevan, transferred to Wetaskiwin for a few years, then returned to Estevan where he spent his remaining years. He started working on the drilling rigs at the tender age of 16, and continued working in the oil field until his retirement in 2002. This work took him to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Australia, New Brunswick, as well as Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. For the last several years, Dale worked as a Field Superintendent for Simmons Drilling.

In his leisure time, Dale enjoyed hunting and fly-in fishing trips to the north with his Òbuddies.Ó In his later years, he enjoyed ice fishing with his friends Stan and Lynn. You were always welcome at this house and he really enjoyed a few games of cribbage. He also enjoyed his jaunts to his hobby farm where he and his friends spent many enjoyable hours.

Dale enjoyed vacations in Las Vegas, Mexico, Couer dÕAlene, Cuba as well as several destinations in the U.S. and Canada. When the children were young, many camping trips were taken with family and friends. A memorable one was a family reunion at Cypress Hills with JoanÕs family. The last few years, ill health diminished DaleÕs mobility so he was unable to do much traveling.

A private family service was held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
