Mrs. Laura Walliser, wife of John Walliser, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Estevan Regional Nursing Home.

Laura leaves to cherish her memory, her husband John; daughters, Martina (Eddie) Begg of Osoyoos, B.C.; Angela Brok-enshire, Estevan, Sask.; son, Robert (Kathy) Abraham, Bullhead City, Arizona; five grandchildren, Lori Papove, Kamloops, B.C.; Jeffery (Stefanie) Gemby, Pt. Moody, B.C.; Cara (John) Adams, Coquitlam, B.C.; Patricia and Teresa Abraham, Bullhead City, Arizona; five great grandchildren, Adam and Jessica Papove, Kamloops, B.C.; Tyson, Alexa and Rene Gemby, Pt. Moody, B.C.; sisters, Marjorie Berday, Estevan; Ida Rohwer, Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laura was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Gertrude Kuster; first husband, Frank Abraham; six brothers and two sisters; one niece and nephew.

Laura was born February 20, 1922 in North Portal, where she attended school. On November 17, 1943, she married Frank Abraham in Bienfait, and resided on their farm at North Portal until the death of Frank in 1980. During these years she worked tirelessly as a homemaker and working companion to Frank while raising three children, one of which was a special needs child, and becoming a Grandmother to five grandchildren. Her family and spiritual life were always her primary focus and her energies never ceased in dedication and devotion to their welfare and care.

January 11, 1984 Laura married John Walliser in Estevan, and moved to Bienfait where she and John resided until 2004 at which time they moved to Estevan to be closer to amenities and services.

Laura always loved her flowers and garden along with her hobbies of sewing and knitting. Laura was a committed member of the Catholic Women's League of Canada for 64 years.

The funeral service for Laura was held on August 7, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Estevan with Father Peter Nijssen officiating at the service. Orsted Funeral Home was in care of the funeral arrangements.

We also wish to express our sincerest gratitude to the Estevan Homecare givers, St. Joseph\'d5s Hospital nursing staff, Estevan Regional Nursing Home care givers who were exceptionally kind and compassionate in Laura\'d5s final hours, Orsted Funeral Home for their efficient and sensitive assistance with the burial process; Father Peter Nijssen for a meaningful funeral service; Bill Mann for a touching Prayer Service; the choir and Mass Servers of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; and finally the Bienfait Chapter of the CWL for a commemorative final tribute to Laura for her years of service.
