Phyllis was born to Frank and Adelaide Struble in June 9, 1918, on a farm near Bromhead, Sask. She was the third oldest of seven children.
On October 20, 1945, she married Joseph Schoff at his farm, seven miles south of Lampman. There they raised a family of nine children.
Phyllis had a large vegetable garden and she canned a lot of vegetables, fruit, and even chicken. Harvest time meant cooking for a threshing crew, so she would make meals to be taken out to the field to be eaten there. Most of her time was spent tending to the needs of a large family.
In her spare time, Phyllis did embroidery or read. Sunday was a day of going to church (at Landau) in the country. Sunday evening, when company was there, was spent by playing Whist or Parcheesi.
In 1968, after all the children had grown and moved on with their lives, Phyllis and Joe moved to Estevan. They enjoyed just having a house and yard to tend to. Life was good.
Joe passed away in February of 1991 at age 90 years. In 1994, Phyllis moved to Inglis Court. She enjoyed the company of the residents there. She loved the Jigsaw Puzzles and Crossword puzzles.
Her health was failing, so she moved to Creighton Lodge in 2005, where she resided until April of this year. As Alzheimer\'d5s Disease took its toll, she was moved into Long Term Care at St. Joseph's Hospital.
On Thursday, August 30 (2007), Phyllis passed away peacefully in her sleep. She will be loved and missed and forever remembered by her family. Peace at last. On her long journey she is finally home.
Funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 3, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Estevan with Father Lorne D. Crozon officiating. Interment in Souris Valley Memorial Gardens.
