With her husband at her bedside, Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Ida Bourquin passed away peacefully in Kelowna, B.C.. on September 7, 2007, at the age of 81 years.

Born April 2, 1926 at Torquay, Saskatchewan, she was one of seven siblings. She married George Bourquin in 1946 and together they bore two children: Marlene in 1947 and Kenneth in 1950. They lived in Estevan from 1946 until 1972 when they moved to Kelowna, B.C. For the past 20 years they've enjoyed retirement together. They were avid daily walkers, enjoyed cooking and baking together and kept busy with their daily routine. Ida was a homemaker who always kept organized and busy.

Ida is predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Myrtle Carlson; two brothers, Richard and Charles; two sisters, Irean Bourquin and Minnie Armour.

Ida is survived by her two children, Marlene Fischer , Kelowna and Kenneth Bourquin (Sharon) of Winnipeg; and two sisters, Luella Williams of Regina and Ruth Holmgren (Lowell) of Estevan; six grandchildren: Leah Podollan (David), Tonia Gillespie, Shawn, Ryan, Brett and Jordan; and five Great Grandchildren, Victoria and Daxton Podollan, Brayden and Taron Gillespie and Symmone Bourquin; numerous nieces and nephews and cherished friends.

Ida will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Sincere and heartfelt thanks are extended to Dr. Williams and all the caring nursing staff at Kelowna General Hospital.

A service was held at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.
