Cheers to the Estevan Comprehensive School’s band for playing at the Nov. 4 Power Dodge Estevan Bruins game. It was so great to listen to, and they showed such awesome Bruin spirit.
Cheers to the local businesses for excellent customer service. All it took was one phone call for needed supplies, and the supplies were delivered immediately.
Cheers to the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum for organizing the very entertaining Estevan Derby hobby horse fundraiser. It was nice to see something new offered in Estevan.
Cheers to all of the schools in the Estevan area that had Remembrance Day services. It’s important for children to know about the sacrifices of our veterans.
Cheers to the volunteers who have signed up to be part of the Warm Welcome shelter program this year. Even though the economy isn’t as strong as it used to be, Warm Welcome remains an important initiative.
Jeers:
Jeers to the removal of bushes and trees at Cactus Park that have nothing to do with future plans. It shows a lack of respect for nature and a disregard for wildlife.
Jeers to the state of the road at the Willow Park Greens Trailer Park. The roads are disgusting. Trailer owner should refuse to pay rent until the roads are drivable.
Jeers to the people who choose to read their mail while sitting in their car, taking up a parking space while others have to continually circle around, waiting to park, so they can pick up their mail.
Jeers to the semi-truck driver who ran a red light at the intersection of Fourth Street and Ninth Avenue in the morning of Nov. 8. Such reckless actions make the roads more dangerous for everyone else.
Jeers to those who have been parking illegally around Affinity Place. If it’s designated for handicapped parking, or for emergency vehicles, then don’t park there.
