Riders quarterback Mitchell Gale, who came in for the injured Darian Durant, attempted 30 passes while completing 17 for 247 yards and one touchdown. The Riders’ record is 0-3 and their next game is against the Ottawa RedBlacks.

In the Arena Football League, the Philadelphia Soul got past the Tampa Bay Storm 56-51 in a close game. The Soul’s record is 12-3 and they will close out the regular season in Week 18 against the Orlando Predators.

Other scores from week 16 were: the LA Kiss got past the Cleveland Gladiators 63-61, and the Portland Steel edged the Jacksonville Sharks 55-53.

In Major League Soccer, Toronto FC lost to the San Jose Quakers 2-1 in a close game. Toronto’s record is 6-7-6 and they are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

Matt Kenseth won the NASCAR New Hampshire 301 race, finishing ahead of Tony Stewart. Kevin Harvick started the race in eighth and finished in fourth place.

In the Western Major Baseball League, the Regina Red Sox lost to Swift Current Indians over the weekend. The Red Sox are in second place in the Eastern Division.

As for Major League Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays managed only one of three games from the Oakland Athletics over the weekend. Toronto is in third place in the American League East Division.
