Estevan air and army cadets compete in zone air rifle event

Five members of the Wylie-Mitchell Air Cadets Squadron and members from the Estevan Army Cadets Corps took part in the zone marksmanship competition on Feb. 15 in Regina.

Five members of the Wylie-Mitchell Air Cadets Squadron and members from the Estevan Army Cadets Corps took part in the zone marksmanship competition on Feb. 15 in Regina.

The event included teams from 11 army cadet and sea cadet corps and air cadet squadrons. Each team is composed of a mix of junior and senior cadets.

Estevan’s air cadet team was composed of Matthew Cinnamon, Jamin Cinnamon, Jana Cinnamon, Sierra White and Katrina Zinchuk placed fourth overall. Matthew Cinnamon placed first overall.

The Estevan army cadets were represented by Griffin Boivin, Victoria Glowatski, Catherine Kroeker, Saber Dodd and Bridget Stovin. The Estevan army cadets placed eighth out of 11 teams overall. One of their junior shooters, Saber Dodd, place 22nd out of 55 shooters for his first time competing, while Victoria Glowatski placed 19th out of 55 overall.
