The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs football program is going to go through some growing pains, but in their first regular season game the team looked to be closing in on an upset.

After being tied 6-6 after the first quarter with the Vanier Vikings at Moose Jaw, the team were stung by multiple touchdowns and ended up losing 48-8 in Moose Jaw High School Football League action.

Hunter Eagles, a grade 9 running back, collected 132 yards on 21 carries in the game but the Elecs were stung by five turnovers on downs in the game.

The Elecs get a bye next week but will return Sept. 19 to play home to the Yorkton Raiders.
