Mrs. Elma Burness of Alameda, SK. passed away at the Galloway Health Centre, Oxbow on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the age of 96.
Elma is survived by one son Ron (Linda) Burness of Alameda; one daughter Bonnie (Bill) Froese of Good Spirit Lake, SK.; seven grandchildren: Patrick (Ivy), Terra, Jeremy (Sarah), Jonathan (Nadine), Chad (Rhonda), Tasha (Rick) and Nathan (Karen); twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; Jack Messham (Patrick and Terra's father). Elma is also survived by her other "grandchildren" as she was considered a special grandmother to many from outside the family.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill; daughter Donna Messham; grandson Mark Messham; parents Albert and Elma (Wallis) McCall; three siblings: Wally, Jim and Audrey.
The funeral service was held at the Alameda United Church, Alameda, SK. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jackie van't Voort officiating. The interment at the Alameda Cemetery will take place at a later date.
