An acclaimed musician from Estevan has received another recognition for his latest album.

Chris Henderson claimed the No. 10 position on the SaskMusic Top 10 Albums of the Year competition for Point of View.

Henderson, who won the 2019 Male Vocalist of the Year Award from the Saskatchewan Country Music Association, is originally from Estevan but now resides in Regina.

In a post on its Facebook page, SaskMusic said the album presents a "blend of modern country sound, with strong traditional roots.”

SaskMusic presents the top 10 albums in Saskatchewan each year. A long list was released a few weeks ago, with more than 40 albums from talented Saskatchewan musicians. Former Estevan resident Joel Henderson, who performs under the name Poor Nameless Boy, was on the long list for his album The Wake Up Call.

A public vote was then used to determine the top 10.

The Dead South finished first with its most recent release Sugar and Joy.
