The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) is inviting the public to an opening reception Feb. 1, starting at 7 p.m., for its newest exhibits.

The first exhibit is Delete if Not Aloud by former Estevan resident Diana Chisholm. Chisholm served as the artist in residence for the Estevan Arts Council in 2015-16, spending time with artists in the community while working on her own projects.

Chisholm is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work is rooted in sculpture and installation. Now residing in Corner Brook, N.L., she focuses on the industrial nature of place and navigating new landscapes through multiple perspectives, humour and social media.

She received a master’s of fine arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 2015, a bachelor of fine arts from Memorial University in Newfoundland in 2012, and a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies from St. Francis Xavier University in 2005.

Chisholm has participated in group and solo exhibitions nationally and been involved with artist residencies in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland.

She is scheduled to be in attendance for the reception.

The other exhibit is It’s Not You, It’s Me by Karla Griffin. Griffin received her master’s of fine arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 2009. Her recent work explores issues of consumption, commodification, and identity formation through both photography and drawing.

Both exhibits will be on display at the EAGM from Feb. 1-March 29.
