Heat will delay the start time of the Pirate Heart musical Saturday, but the show will go on.

The Pirate Heart musical written by Lampman’s Maureen Ulrich will be delayed tonight until 8 p.m. after heat threatened to cancel it for the night.

Theatre manager Lyn Vilcu said there was an issue with the air being unable to cool down at the theatre due to the unceasing extreme heat in the southeast lately. If temperature of the ambient temperature in the building had been above 33 degrees Celsius, the show wouldn't have gone on tonight. That happened last Saturday when the temperature outside approached 39 degrees Celsius during the day.

Tonight’s show will be delayed to make sure the theatre's temperature stays at a playable level.

After tonight, there is still Saturday night’s show left in Pirate Heart’s run. The theatre can be reached at 306-461-6869.
