A talented musician from southeast Saskatchewan is a finalist for a prestigious music honour. Country music singer Tenille Arts of Weyburn is up for New Female Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

A talented musician from southeast Saskatchewan is a finalist for a prestigious music honour.

Country music singer Tenille Arts of Weyburn is up for New Female Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Ingrid Andress, Gabby Barrett, Mickey Guyton and Caylee Hammack are the other finalists.

The winner will be announced during a ceremony on April 18.

Arts is well known to music fans in the southeast. She was the winner of the Estevan Junior Idol competition in 2006, and has performed at concerts and fundraisers in the Estevan area on many occasions.
