Southeast Saskatchewan musician takes top spot in SaskMusic annual competition

A talented musician from southeast Saskatchewan who has performed in the Estevan area on many occasions has taken top spot in the Best Saskatchewan Albums of the Year contest, organized by SaskMusic.

A talented musician from southeast Saskatchewan who has performed in the Estevan area on many occasions has taken top spot in the Best Saskatchewan Albums of the Year contest, organized by SaskMusic.

Tenille Arts of Weyburn released Love, Heartbreak & Everything In Between in January.

Arts won the Estevan Junior Idol (now Estevan Sings Junior) contest in 2006 and was runner-up for Estevan Idol (now Estevan Sings) a few years later. She has also performed at a number of fundraisers and events in Estevan over the years.

Arts is currently residing in Nashville. She has had over 78 million lifetime streams, a digital audience of over 341,000, and 172,000 Shazams.

Love, Heartbreak & Everything In Between is her second album. In the first week, it reached the top 10 for current country albums, the top five for top new artist albums, No. 3 for country albums & No. 10 for all-genre albums on iTunes.

It’s yielded Top 10 Canadian hits Somebody Like That and Everybody Knows Everybody. Within a month of the album coming out, Arts performed on The Grand Ole Opry, The Today Show, performed for the third time on The Bachelor TV show and sang O Canada at the NBA All-Star game.

She also picked up the Canadian Country Music Association’s 2020 Rising Star Award in September.
