The town of Carlyle will once again be the site of “The Biggest Little Craft Show in Saskatchewan” which will be returning to the town for the thirty-second time Sept. 15-16.

The Homespun Craft Show has been named a Saskatchewan Tourism Award of Excellence winner and is known to bring thousands of eager visitors to the town during the annual two-day event.

Homespun, which is an incorporated non-profit group, was began by the Carlyle Economic Development Committee and is currently lead by chair of the board Nicole Currie.

“We have a lot of crafters coming from all over the country to come and put their creations on display in our little town,” said Currie.

“We have everything from food crafts, wood products, clothing and metalwork, pottery and woodwork, as well as a quilt show that will be going on at the hall in town as well. There is really a little bit of everything for everyone.”

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 15, with a quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 16.
Tickets for the event are $5 per ticket, with free entry for children 12 and under. As well, tickets for the quilt show are $4 per ticket with free entry for children 12 and under.

“We’ve been doing this event for a really long time but we’re excited about the event year after year,” said Currie.

“We have some new things going on this year and we have some of our favourite crafters back as well. Saturday we will start the morning with a pancake breakfast that the Legion hosts right beside the rink at 8 a.m., then the doors will open for the show following that.”

More than 60 vendors from all across Canada will be in attendance of the event, featuring a wide variety of different homemade crafts. Changes have been made in recent years to the size of booths, but according to Currie, the show will still meet the high expectations people have come to have of the annual event over the years.

Two prize draws will also be available to event participants, both of which will have prizes of $100 in vendor bucks, which can be used at any of the vendor booths in attendance.

The event will be held at the Carlyle Sports Arena and will also feature a “Supper in the Field” on the Saturday night. The supper will have a separate cost from the event.

“If anyone has any questions at all about the event we keep our social media constantly updated, and they can contact us through any of our platforms,” said Currie.
