The City of Estevan is pleased with the support shown for the Hit After Hit concert on Saturday night at Affinity Place.

Veteran Canadian country music performers George Canyon, Doc Walker and Charlie Major, and newcomer Manny Blu provided entertainment for the concert.

Over 1100 people attended event on the weekend, and an additional contingent were present for the tailgate party in the Estevan Leisure Centre’s multipurpose room prior to the start of the show.

“The entertainment was top notch and the crowd seemed to appreciate the cabaret style, as people were seen standing and dancing throughout the night,” states a new release from the city.

The concert featured a bucket list moment as well. One particular family travelled nine hours to come to Estevan to fill their father's bucket list of meeting his long-time idol, Charlie Major.

"The experience was an emotional one as he spoke with Major with watery star-struck eyes," the city said.

Initial reviews to city employees have been overwhelmingly positive, and many local businesses saw increased business that afternoon and continue to appreciate the positive economic impact that shows like this bring to the community.

The City continues to look at other great entertainment opportunities and appreciates all the support from the citizens in attending these events.
