Students from the Estevan Comprehensive School's musical production of Footloose performed several scenes during the United Way Estevan's telethon on Friday evening.

It marked the first time the scenes have been performed publicly. A large crowd filled the Royal Canadian Legion's Estevan branch to watch the students.

The musical will be performed Nov. 29 and 30 at 7 p.m., and Dec. 1 and 2 at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Estevan Comprehensive School's cafetorium.

It features the talents of dozens of students in the cast and crew. Many volunteers are also involved.

The school also staged a musical last year. Traditionally the musical has been performed every second year, but a decision was made to have a musical this year as well.

Next week's edition of the Mercury will have more on this story.
