The federal government has granted more than $500,000 towards the City of Estevan for the establishment and operation of a business incubator in the community.

The Economic Development Board of the City of Estevan, as part of its quest to strengthen and grow the business environment in Estevan, is endeavouring to establish and operate a facility which will provide support to small businesses as well as new business startups.

“This project provides a great opportunity for new and existing businesses to grow and sustain themselves,” said Dwight Bramble, economic development co-ordinator. “The City of Estevan is happy to lead this initiative as part of its ongoing efforts to develop Estevan and make it a great place to live, work and do business.”

The facility will help new and existing businesses to develop by providing services, office space, and other supports. Exact details on what that would entail are under development, and the board wants the public’s opinion on what they think the facility should feature.

The survey can be found on the city’s website or at www.surveymonkey.com/r/B36JMVJ.
