An Estevan body shop is now operating under a new name.
Ideal Autobody is now known as Carstar Estevan. Carstar is North America’s largest premier network of independently owned and operated collision repair facilities.
The Estevan business will still be at the same location in the 400-block of Fourth Street, and it will still be owned by Bill Fonstad, who has been in the collision repair industry for over 40 years.
He opened his first facility in 1985, before moving to his current location in 1996. Looking to continue growing his business, Fonstad decided to join the Carstar network.
“With the industry advancing faster than ever, there are more requirements to ensure a repair is done safely for our valued customers,” says Bill Fonstad, owner, CARSTAR Estevan. “CARSTAR was the best fit for us, because they prioritize training and education, to help owners like me get ahead of the game to better serve our community.”
CARSTAR Estevan is a 4,500-square foot facility and is currently pursuing its I-CAR gold certification. Centrally located in Estevan, this facility employs a team who understands the importance of repair quality, no matter the make or model.
“Many of our Carstar facilities have been long-time small business owners in their communities, like Bill, prioritizing their work quality and service levels above all else,” says Phil D’Alimonte, zone director for Carstar. “This is why we are so excited to welcome owners like this to the Carstar family, because they help make our premier reputation possible.”
A member of the Rotary Club of Estevan and regularly supporting local causes, Bill and his team look forward to continue giving back to Estevan when they can. Additionally, the team hopes to support Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the North American charitable cause for Carstar.
