The Estevan Leisure Centre has announced the registration process for booking the weight room, fitness classes and tennis courts once they open again on June 8 as part of Phase 3 for the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan.

Guidelines call for a limit on the number of patrons inside the facility and other safety measures. In order to manage who is coming in and when an online booking system has been set up to ensure that the proper numbers are being followed.

"We will do a reservation system by the hour, so people can book their hour and come in, and after each hour, there will be a half-hour slot for our team to do some thorough cleaning," said program manager Erin Wilson.

Patrons will be screened upon arrival and asked a few questions as per the Operational Health and Safety guidelines. Space between workout stations has either increased or a machine has been put into 'not in use.'

Drinking fountains and change rooms will be closed.

"Fitness classes that were previously happening virtually will now be in person with the exception of chair yoga and easy stretch class, which is a class that is geared to seniors. We made that choice because of their vulnerability, and we want to allow them the option of staying home if they so choose."

Memberships that were bought previously were put on hold; the days remaining on memberships have been applied to accounts starting June 8. If you need a new membership, please either book online at www.estevan.ca or call the information desk at the Estevan Leisure Centre for contactless payment.

Users can pre-register now online at www.estevan.ca or over the phone by calling the information desk.
