The United Way Estevan has been selected as a recipient of a SaskEnergy Share the Warmth grant.

The United Way received $1,000 for the Mittens for Children project. This grant made it possible for the Estevan Community Hamper Association and its Angel Tree program to distribute mittens, scarves and toques to children of families receiving Christmas hampers this year.

In addition to this $1,000, other donations received by the Estevan Community Hamper Association ensured that approximately 560 children received mittens.

United Way Estevan gratefully acknowledged the financial support of SaskEnergy for their Share the Warmth initiative.

“These grants are utilized by organizations—helping them implement a program to Share the Warmth by providing warm clothes, shelter or food.

Accepted applicants use the grant to assist citizens with the tough challenges of our frigid Saskatchewan winters.”
