Captain Kyle Luc of the Estevan Fire Rescue Service, who is the president of the Estevan Firefighters Association, discusses the fire department's new 2017 Kubota wild land firefighting unit, the equipment it possesses, and how it will benefit the fire department in grass fires and in other situations.

The unit was unveiled at the fire hall on Tuesday evening, with representatives of the fire department, Affinity Credit Union and the Estevan Kinsmen Club on hand. Affinity and the Kinsmen donated towards the project.

The total cost of the unit is approximately $50,000, and the fire department is still fundraising for tools and more so the unit will be better equipped.

This week's edition of Southeast Lifestyles will have more on this story.
