Students from Stoughton Central School will get their chance to celebrate on June 29 when the school hosts its annual graduation ceremony.

The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., according to principal Shelly Campbell. The ceremony will feature a variety of speeches, as well as the presentation of diplomas.

Remy Gilbertson will give a tribute to the parents, and Leon Gilbertson provide a reply. Katelyn Fuller will then give a tribute to the teachers, with Campbell offering a response. The vote of thanks will be Fuller and Olivia Allen.

Cale Piper is this year’s valedictorian, and he will also deliver a speech.

Scott Kirkness will be the MC, and Kierden Marshall will be the guest speaker.

“He’s a substitute teacher who came in for a few weeks, and the kids really liked him, and so they asked him to be the guest speaker for grad,” said Campbell.

The school will also present its scholarships and graduation awards.

Campbell said grad is an important time for the kids, and a celebration of the students’ success and hard work over the past 12 years.

“We’ll be wishing them well as they continue their education and their careers and their lives. So it’s a community celebration of their accomplishments,” she said.
