Four more people with COVID-19 in Saskatchewan have died, including one from the southeast region

Four Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Three of the deceased were in the 80-plus age group, and were residents from the north central, Regina and southeast zones.

Four Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. 

Three of the deceased were in the 80-plus age group, and were residents from the north central, Regina and southeast zones. One was a resident from the south central in the 70-79 age group.

This is the first time that someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the southeast region has died. The area of residence for the deceased was not released.

There are 329 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on November 27, 2020, bringing the provincial total to date to 7,691 cases. Fourteen of the new cases are in the southeast region, and one of them is from Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.  

There are now 17 active cases in Zone 4, and 160 in the southeast region, with 119 of the active cases located in Southeast Zone 1.

Fifteen more people from the southeast region have recovered.

A total of 253 cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in the southeast since mid-March.

As for the rest of the province, the new cases are located in the far northwest (8), far northeast (4), northwest (23), north central (21), northeast (1), the Saskatoon region (158), central west (6), central east (11), the Regina region (61), southwest (16) and south central (1) zones, and five new cases have pending residence information.

Four cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the north central zone.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 268 (22.1 new cases per 100,000 population).

Of the 7,691 reported cases, 3,263, or 42.4 per cent, are considered active.

There have been 208 more recoveries, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 4,384 recoveries, or 57 per cent of those diagnosed.

One-hundred and eleven people are in hospital. Ninety-five people are receiving inpatient care; one in the far northwest, eight in the northwest, 12 in northcentral, one in the northeast, 32 in Saskatoon, two in central east, 16 in Regina, two in southwest, one in south central and 20 in the southeast. 

Sixteen people are in intensive care: one in northwest, 11 in Saskatoon, one in the southwest and three in Regina.

A total of 3,687 COVID-19 tests were processed in Saskatchewan on Thursday.
