A 21 year old arrested for drug impaired driving, possession of meth and cocaine

As a result of a Report Impaired Driver (RID) call, a 21-year-old Estevan female was arrested for driving while impaired by drug. The female failed a roadside oral fluid device test, and was transported for a blood test, as a result.

As a result of a Report Impaired Driver (RID) call, a 21-year-old Estevan female was arrested for driving while impaired by drug. The female failed a roadside oral fluid device test, and was transported for a blood test, as a result. Charges are pending upon receipt of the blood analysis report.

During the impaired investigation, members located quantities of methamphetamine and crack cocaine in the vehicle. The female is facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She is also charged with possession, consumption or distribution of cannabis in a vehicle under the Cannabis Control Act for Saskatchewan.

The female was lodged in cells and will be released later in front of a Justice of the Peace.

In other recent news, police were alerted to an altercation on the street in a residential area in the city’s north side. Police arrived on scene to find two males that had been arguing and fighting in front of a residence. One male was arrested and lodged in cells until sober. The matter is still under investigation.

Members located and lodged a 23-year-old Bienfait male, after a call of someone being chased in the Nicholson Road area. He will be released when sober.
