Saskatchewan’s Amber Alert system has been activated after the abduction of a child in the North Battleford area.

The victim is Emma O’Keeffe, a six-year-old Caucasian girl who stands 3’6” and weighs 44 pounds. She has brown, jaw-length hair.

Emma was last seen wearing a navy-blue, long sleeve t-shirt, black jeans and pink socks, without shoes. She was also wearing a diaper.

Emma suffers from epilepsy and autism, and is non-verbal and unable to walk.

At this time, police have no description of the suspect.

The abduction is believed to have occurred outside a strip mall at 11204 Railway Ave. in North Battleford.

The suspect is believed to be driving a dark grey 2010 Mercedes Benz GL350 Bluetec SUV with Saskatchewan licence plate 897 HMX.

The direction of travel is unknown at this time.

In a subsequent news release, the RCMP said investigators have learned that six-year-old Emma O’Keeffe requires medication every 12 hours.  She requires this medication to be taken in a strict time frame. Missing a dose could lead to extreme medical distress.
