Another first-degree murder charge laid in Tiki Laverdiere homicide

A ninth person charged has been charged in relation to the Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation, according to RCMP. The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit (MCU)-North has been investigating the homicide of Tiki Laverdiere for over a year.

A ninth person charged has been charged in relation to the Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation, according to RCMP.

The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit (MCU)-North has been investigating the homicide of Tiki Laverdiere for over a year. To date, eight people have been charged and are before the courts or have been sentenced for their roles in her death. 

Over the course of the year, MCU-North Investigators have continued to follow up on all information and tips received from the public regarding the case. Newly received information brought investigators to Edmonton, Alta., and North Battleford, where they have been working for the past two weeks.

As a result of this work, police have arrested and charged 33-year-old Charles St. Savard (1986-10-08) of Edmonton, Alta., with first-degree murder, contrary to Section 235(1) of the Canadian Criminal Code and Kidnapping, contrary to Section 279(1.1)(b) of the Canadian Criminal Code for his role in Tiki Laverdiere's murder.  

Charles St. Savard was arrested in Edmonton on July 10 by the Edmonton Police Service and he has been returned to North Battleford, , where he remains in police custody. He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, July 13, at 9:30 a.m. 

St. Savard is the ninth person charged in relation to the murder of Tiki Laverdiere.
