Carnduff RCMP Detachment sent out two crime watch advisories Thursday afternoon.

In the first case, sometime between Nov. 9 and 10 an unknown individual(s) collided with the lamp post and stop sign located in the Northeast corner of the intersection of Highway 8 and 361. The lamp post and sign were a complete loss.

A concerned citizen contacted the Carnduff RCMP Detachment forthwith having recognized the potential hazard, and in turn the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure were engaged to erect temporary signage with consideration to the rapidly declining weather conditions.

In the interim, no one has come forward to report having been involved in this collision.

The Carnduff RCMP Detachment are kindly asking that the responsible individual(s) come forward. Otherwise, anyone with information concerning this collision may contact their nearest RCMP Detachment (310-RCMP) or Crime Stoppers.

Carnduff RCMP were also alerted about a suspicious vehicle and behaviour on Nov. 10.

They received a proactive complaint of suspicious activity and movement of a vehicle near the Village of Glen Ewen and within the RM of Mount Pleasant. It was the forward thinking of that concerned citizen that allowed the members of the Carnduff RCMP Detachment to positively identify the vehicle and it's owner, and have allowed police to press forward with investigation of ongoing matters. Anyone who has witnessed anything out of the ordinary near and around their communities are encouraged to contact their nearest RCMP Detachment (310-RCMP) or Crime Stopper's.

“It is important to highlight that it is often these small gestures, undertaken by concerned citizens being on the ‘look out’ to maintain the integrity of their community, that aid police the most in carrying out our duties to serve our community. Any and all information no matter how small or insignificant it may seem can be helpful to our investigations. We thank you for your assistance,” the advisory says.
