The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) recently seized a compact shotgun at the North Portal border crossing.
According to a tweet from the CBSA's Prairie region's Twitter feed, a traveller was arrested and fined $1,500 after the seizure of a compact shotgun. The tweet noted the individual concealed it because he knew it is restricted. Officers also seized 16 overcapacity magazines.
The CBSA encourages people to leave their guns at home, or to declare them at the border.
