Emergency crews called to collision between a semi and a grain truck north of Estevan

Members of the Estevan RCMP, Estevan Fire Rescue Service and Estevan Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to a collision at the junction of Highway 47 and the Highway 39 truck bypass at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Members of the Estevan RCMP, Estevan Fire Rescue Service and Estevan Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to a collision at the junction of Highway 47 and the Highway 39 truck bypass at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A westbound grain truck collided with a semi that was turning east onto the bypass from Highway 47. The driver of the grain truck was treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries and the driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries.

Traffic in the area was interrupted for approximately 30 minutes while emergency crews cleared the scene.

The driver of the semi did receive a ticket for proceeding from the stop sign before it was safe to do so under the Traffic Safety Act.
