EPS arrests three people after an assault

Three people were arrested following an assault in Estevan on Wednesday afternoon. According to Wednesday’s report from the Estevan Police Service, an 18-year-old Estevan woman is facing a charge of assault with a weapon.

Three people were arrested following an assault in Estevan on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Wednesday’s report from the Estevan Police Service, an 18-year-old Estevan woman is facing a charge of assault with a weapon. She was arrested and released with conditions. A 19-year-old woman from Lampman was also arrested and charged with assault with a weapon for her role in the incident.

A 15-year-old Estevan female youth is facing a charge of assault and failing to comply with a court order in relation to the matter.

The investigation is ongoing.

In other recent police news, police attended to a noise complaint Sunday morning. The people located at the residence were warned about the bylaw.

Two youths, ages 15 and 17, were charged with mischief as a result of incidents last week. Two charges each have been laid along with two counts of theft under $5,000. The matter is still under investigation.

Officers responded to a noise complaint at a residence in south Estevan on Monday. A female was charged under the bylaw for causing a noise that disturbs others.

Police charged a 37-year-old Weyburn man with mischief after he damaged police property while in custody. He will appear in court in March.

Members conducted curfew checks on residents within the city. A 27-year-old man was found to not be abiding by his curfew. Charges are pending and the matter remains under investigation.

Police received a complaint of a computer fraud. The EPS remind the public to not share any personal or financial information with individuals or companies they are not certain of. This matter is still under investigation.

Officers are reminding motorists that the new fines for distracted driving took effect Feb. 1. Police have already issued multiple $580 dollar tickets to local motorists.
