EPS members arrest a Regina man for drug trafficking

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) arrested a 40-year-old Regina man on Jan. 8 on a drug-related infraction. The man was arrested following a traffic stop.

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) arrested a 40-year-old Regina man on Jan. 8 on a drug-related infraction.

The man was arrested following a traffic stop. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, being in possession of the proceeds of crime and breaching a release condition, stemming from criminal charges in Regina. 

He will be released later on Jan. 10 on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court in Estevan on March 1.

No further details were immediately available. 

Also on Jan. 8, police received a report of damage to a garage door of a residence. It appears someone drove into the door with their vehicle and damaged it. The matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of uttering threats. Officers investigated the complaint and determined that there weren’t any actual criminal threats. The matter was resolved with mediation.

Members received a request for assistance to mediate a dispute between a teenage daughter and her mother. Police were able to speak to the parties involved and resolve the dispute.

Members attended to a two-vehicle collision at the King Street and Kensington Avenue intersection in the early evening on Jan. 7. Both vehicles were drivable and there were no injuries. One driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.

Officers received a complaint of potentially threatening communications via social media. The matter is still under investigation.

Police are investigating a report of harassing communications. A male is possibly facing charges.
