Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) were called to three separate accidents Wednesday.

The first was just after lunch when a driver turned and struck the back end of a trailer at an intersection. One vehicle sustained some minor damage and the trailer also was damaged but still usable. The matter is under investigation.

The second accident took place in the city’s north residential area, where a traffic detour was being used due to construction on King Street. Both vehicles sustained only minor damage but one driver was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.

Finally, officers attended to a collision in the 1400-block of Fourth Street, after an eastbound vehicle collided with three parked cars. Two vehicles were towed from the scene and a female driver was transported by EMS to St. Joseph’s for further assessment. The female has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act and will appear in court in November.

In other recent police news, officers responded to a suspicious male in the 400-block of Second Street on Wednesday. Officers were unable to locate the male and the matter remains under investigation.

Members responded to a domestic disturbance after a neighbour could hear people screaming in the house next door. Police spoke to the parties involved and after investigation determined an offence had not been committed. One of the parties decided to leave for the night and stay at a different residence.

Police received a call of a burglar alarm at an elementary school. Police checked the building and found it to be secure. No signs of damage were visible. The alarm is believed to be false.
