Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) have made arrests for drug possession and assault in recent days.

Police arrested a 21-year-old woman for possession of methamphetamine after she was located sleeping in a vehicle on Saturday. Police had stopped to check on her wellbeing around 8:20 a.m. and they say the evidence could be seen through the window. She was taken back to the police station, where she was released a few hours later with a July court date.

Officers attended to a disturbance in the Trojan area of the city. Police mediated and one of the parties involved agreed to remove themselves from the residence for the remainder of the evening.

Members received a Report Impaired Drivers call. The vehicle in question was not initially located. Several hours later the vehicle was found. The driver was tested and found to not be impaired, but was found to be in possession of cannabis in a vehicle as well as a minor possessing alcohol. He was ticketed for both offences.

Police responded to a collision in the 1500-block of Second Street on Friday. A westbound vehicle collided with a parked vehicle. No major injuries were reported to police. The driver was charged for driving without due care and attention.

Members responded to a collision in the north end of Estevan. A vehicle travelling north on Victoria Avenue collided with a parked vehicle. The driver was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. The collision is still under investigation.

Police attended to a disturbance in the Pleasantdale area of the city. A 31-year-old man was arrested for assault. He was later released from police custody on conditions. The male is scheduled to appear in court in July for assault.
