EPS members recover stolen vehicle, make arrests in other incidents

Members of the Estevan Police Service have been busy the past couple of days, dealing with a stolen vehicle, making arrests for several incidents and investigating vandalism and mischief. Police recovered a stolen vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Estevan Police Service have been busy the past couple of days, dealing with a stolen vehicle, making arrests for several incidents and investigating vandalism and mischief.

Police recovered a stolen vehicle Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle, which had been stolen from Carlyle, was near the Grundeen Apartments in Pleasantdale. Evidence from the vehicle was recovered and the investigating agency was notified. If anyone has any information or saw anyone around the vehicle, please call the Estevan Police Service at 306-634-4767 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Officers are investigating a single vehicle collision at 16th Avenue and First Street. No injuries reported as a result. The matter is still under investigation and charges are pending.

An Estevan female was charged with criminal harassment after continuing to contact an individual, even though she was warned not to on multiple occasions. She will appear in court in August.

An Estevan male has been charged with breaching his conditions. He continues to contact an individual that he has no contact conditions with. He has been charged and will appear in court in August.

Members of the Estevan Police Service are investigating a series of incidents that were reported Tuesday. Police received a number of theft and mischief to property complaints from central Estevan. The investigations relate to three separate mischief incidents involving vehicles, one mischief to a garage, and three thefts of property. Two of the vehicles and the garage have spray paint on them. The third vehicle had damage to a tire. Police located some of the stolen property as it was discarded by the individuals. 

The EPS is asking that if anyone locates something in their yard that seemed to be discarded, to please call so officers can attempt to return the property.

Also on June 10, police received a Report Impaired Drivers line call. The vehicle was not located. The registered owner will be contacted and advised of the complaint.

The EPS is investigating a complaint of criminal harassment via text. Criminal charges are pending on the matter.

Police have been receiving complaints of unattached trailers and campers that are parked on the street. Members would like to remind motorists and camper owners that they cannot park trailers or campers on the street without having them hooked up to a vehicle. Leaving an unhooked trailer on the street could result in an $80 bylaw fine. Vehicles also cannot be parked on the street for more than 24 hours without being moved. Fines for this offence are also $80.
